Yellow Butterflies

Yellow Butterflies
On the way to work I noticed
Two yellow butterflies
Coupling in a nearby bush
While a large family of lovely deer
Took an after dinner stroll
Through the woods
On the way to work I noticed
That the sky was bluer
Than I have ever seen it
And, there was one
Lone cloud, billowy, and full
I noticed that I was smiling
As the cherub shaped cloud
Was smiling down at me
On the way to work I noticed
The homeless man
Singing songs of love
For the family who abandoned him
I noticed myself headed toward him
With a smile on my face
And, a song in my heart
For he could be me
I gave him a hug and I whispered
“Keep hope alive!”
